What we know about you
When you step inside Orbit, we learn a few things. Only what we need. Nothing more.
Your location
Orbit is built around where you are. We use your coordinates to show you the people and energy nearby. Your precise location is rounded for safety. We do not store a history of everywhere you have been. We care about where you are right now.
Your face
Everyone verifies their identity before getting in. This is handled by Stripe Identity, a third party. They process your ID document and facial scan. We receive a yes or no. We do not store your ID photos or biometric data. Ever.
Your content
Posts, stories, photos, videos, messages, answers. The things you create inside Orbit are stored on our servers so the app works. Stories disappear after 24 hours. Messages stay until you delete them.
Your emotion
When you pick a feeling, we store it so nearby people can see the energy around them. Your emotion resets when you change it.
Your device
We store a push notification token so we can send you alerts. We collect basic crash and performance data to keep things running.
What we do not do
We do not sell your data. We do not show you ads. We do not track you across other apps. We do not read your messages. We do not build a profile to sell to anyone.
Who else touches your data
- Supabase — our database and file storage
- Stripe Identity — identity verification
- Expo — push notifications
- Apple / Google — app distribution
That is it. No analytics companies. No ad networks. No data brokers.
Your choices
- You can turn off notifications in Settings.
- You can make your account private.
- You can hide yourself from the nearby map.
- You can delete any post, story, message, or answer.
- You can delete your entire account from Settings. When you do, your data is removed.
Age
You must be at least 13 to use Orbit. Identity verification is required for all users.
Location
If you turn off location access, Orbit will not work. That is by design. The app is about where you are.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update this page. Continued use of Orbit means you accept the current version.
